Outstanding Otatara Stay. Exceeded all expectations. From the moment we arrived, Kevin made us feel genuinely welcome, taking the time to show us around and ensure we had everything we needed. When I needed to add an extra room at last minute, Kevin didn't hesitate - nothing was a problem, and we were completely trusted to sort payment with Joan after checking in. Joan is a very kind host. Her flexibility and trust was deeply appreciated. The location was perfect for our needs - right by the river and directly opposite Teretonga Raceway, exactly where I needed to be. The accommodation itself was impeccable - the kitchen was pristine, the beds were super comfortable, and I'm not exaggerating they have the best showers we've ever experienced at an Airbnb. Everything was spotlessly clean and tidy throughout. Kevin and Joan are genuinely the friendliest, kindest BNB hosts we've ever had, their warm hospitality made our stay that much more memorable.

A beautiful place in peaceful, rural surroundings. So well appointed and comfortable, and such friendly and helpful hosts. Just perfect!

The hosts were so friendly and helpful and it felt so relaxing to stay there. A real home from home. The view and surroundings are wonderful with lots of local walks and outdoor activities. A great place to stay.

As many reviews have said: This accommodation is exactly as described. Both hosts were extremely welcoming, and we had everything we needed, as well as some nice chats. The surroundings are really peaceful. It's perfect for getting away from work or crowded tourist places further north.

Kevin and Joans home is beautiful, stunning views, 5 star quality accommodation. Wonderful hosts, perfect balance of hospitality and privacy. Very thoughtfully designed home and surroundings, this property would be our first choice next time we are in Invercargill. Thoroughly recommend Kevin & Joan, you won't be disappointed.

Joan and Kevin were amazing hosts in trying circumstances. We loved sharing their space, meals and conversation. Highly recommended if you are looking for a peaceful spot out of the middle of Invercargill.

We had a great stays with Joan and Kevin, wonderful hospitality feel like home straightaway :) The house is modern and squeaky clean. Also, beautifully surroundings with the nature, wildlife and lake. We will definitely stay again next time :)

Follow their recommendations for the local restaurant. Well worth it.
The area is very nice and quiet.

I had a such a lovely time at Joan and Kevin’s house. Very friendly and kind. The house is absolutely beautiful and clean and quiet and warm. An incredible view of the river and sunset and birds. Their dog and cat were very sweet. Highly recommended.

Joan and Kevin are awesome hosts, very friendly, made me feel welcome. Allowed me to put my motorbike in their garage, coming and going was made very easy. The location of the property is very peaceful, and the outlook is stunning. The room I stayed in was spotless, comfortable, with own TV and private onsuite. I highly recommend this B & B as one of the top that I have stayed in.

Very beautiful and tidy place, just as advertised. Joan and Kevin went the extra mile to pick me up/drop me off to places as I didn't have a rental car. Had an excellent bike ride too, thanks for allowing me to use the bike! Joan and Kevin are very friendly and always make me feel welcomed. Nice scenery and peaceful stay. Highly recommended.

The stay with Joan and Kevin was just awsome! A beautiful house with an amazing view over the river, a kitchen with everything you could possibly need and a sitting room you just would like to stay forever. Joan and Kevin are very warm and friendly people, they gave us lots of good ideas, where we could visit. We enjoyed really good chats with them. A place we would love to go again.
